FAQ
Questions and answers
How this desk works, answered plainly. If your question is not below, write to us.
The desk itself
Is AKS Textiles an airline?
No. AKS Textiles runs this travel desk as an independent travel agency. No airline owns it, endorses it or flies under its name. We reserve seats on other companies' aircraft for you.
Why does a textile name sell flights?
Because the travel desk is run by the same company, and the name on the door is the company's name. No fabric is sold on this website. The desk does one thing, which is arrange air travel.
Are your fares the cheapest available?
We do not make that claim and we guarantee no price. Fares come from the airlines, and the same fare is frequently on sale elsewhere. What this desk offers is a careful comparison of what is workable for your dates, and a total with the conditions written beside it.
Can I book a flight on this site right now?
Not yet. Online ticketing is still being built, which is why the prices on screen are samples. Send the trip to the desk instead, and an agent will price the real fares for your dates.
When is the desk open?
Requests are taken 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Use the contact page, or ask an agent to call you.
Money
Is everything inside the total you quote?
Everything mandatory is: the airline fare, the taxes, the government charges and our service fee, in USD. Optional airline extras such as a checked bag or a chosen seat sit outside it, and are listed on their own with a link to the airline's fee page.
What is the service fee?
Our service fee is charged per passenger and is shown on its own line in your quote, before you pay. It is ours, not the airline's, and it is already counted inside the total you approve. The Service Fee Policy sets out how it works.
Can a quoted fare move?
Yes, until the airline issues the ticket. If the price shifts before that moment, you hear the new total from us, and the booking waits for your word.
How is payment taken?
Through a third-party payment provider. Card details are entered on that provider's own secure page and never on this website. The amount taken is the total you approved and no other.
When plans change
What does changing a flight cost?
The fare difference, plus any airline change charge your fare carries, plus our charge for the work. The three arrive as one quote, and nothing moves until you approve it.
Can I cancel a new booking without penalty?
Often, yes. On a ticket bought at least seven days before departure, federal rules require the airline to allow cancellation within 24 hours of booking at no penalty. An agent tells you whether your ticket is inside that window and files the request.
The airline canceled my flight. What now?
If the airline cancels, or significantly changes, your flight and you decline the alternative, federal rules generally require a refund to your original form of payment. Where the federal rules require it, you get it, and we file the claim on a ticket bought here.
I booked direct with an airline. Can this desk change it?
No. Only tickets bought through this desk can be handled here. A ticket bought from an airline has to go back to that airline.
Before the airport
Who is responsible for passports and visas?
The traveler is. An agent will point out where a trip is likely to need a passport or a visa, but the U.S. Department of State and the destination's own authorities have the last word.
How do I find what a bag will cost?
Baggage allowances and charges belong to the airline and vary with the fare. Your itinerary links to the airline's own baggage page, and our baggage information explains what to check before you pack.
What ID does a domestic flight need?
An adult needs acceptable identification at the checkpoint, such as a REAL ID-compliant driver's license or a passport. The Transportation Security Administration publishes the current list of what it accepts.
I need help getting through the airport. Who arranges it?
The airline provides airport assistance under the Air Carrier Access Act. Tell this desk what is needed, an agent puts the request on your booking, and you are told what the airline has accepted.
Send the route and the dates
An agent reads the request, prices it and replies with options and one total. Nothing is booked at that stage.
