Flight change assistance

Change a flight

Move a date, a time or a route on a ticket bought through this desk, with the whole cost of the move in front of you first.

For bookings made through AKS Textiles. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

A change is cheap, dear or impossible depending on which fare you hold. Many standard fares on US airlines carry no change penalty at all. The most restricted fares often cannot be changed once the airline's own grace period has passed. The first thing an agent does is read the conditions printed against your ticket, then look at what is actually selling on the days you want.

The quote that follows has up to three lines on it. The fare difference, if the replacement flight prices higher than what you paid. The airline change charge, if your fare rules carry one. Our charge for doing the work. If your dates can move, an agent can price two or three alternatives, so the cheapest day to shift to is visible rather than guessed at.

Your booking stays exactly as it is until you approve that quote. No seat is held on the replacement flight while you think, so the fare difference can move until the airline processes the change.

How it works

  1. Send the request

Your booking reference, which travelers are moving, and the dates or route you want instead.

  2. The rules are read

An agent checks the conditions on your ticket and the seats available on the flights you are considering.

  3. The quote arrives

Fare difference, airline charge and our charge on separate lines, totaled in USD.

  4. You approve; we move it

Once your approval and payment are in, the change goes to the airline and the new itinerary comes back to you.

Questions about this service

My fare says there is no change fee. Why is there a cost?

No change fee means the airline adds no penalty of its own. If the replacement flight prices higher than the fare you bought, the difference is still payable, and our charge for the work is listed on its own line.

Can a restricted fare be changed at all?

Often it cannot. Entry-level fares on several US airlines are sold on the basis that they are fixed once the grace period ends. An agent reads your ticket and says plainly if the answer is no.

What if the new flight is cheaper than the old one?

That depends on the fare rules. Some airlines return the difference as a travel credit, some keep it, and a few refund it. The quote names which of the three applies to your ticket.

Send the route and the dates

An agent reads the request, prices it and replies with options and one total. Nothing is booked at that stage.
