Seat & upgrade assistance

Seats and cabins

Extra legroom, a window, two seats beside each other, or a move to a higher cabin, requested where the airline sells it.

For bookings made through AKS Textiles. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

What is on offer depends on three things at once: the airline, the aircraft flying that day, and the fare you hold. Some fares include seat selection. Many restricted fares charge for it, or assign a seat at check-in and nowhere earlier. An upgrade may be sold at a fixed price, offered against miles, or available only as a move onto a different fare.

An agent checks what your ticket permits, what each option costs, and whether the move changes the conditions you travel under. A higher cabin often brings a larger baggage allowance and different change rules. Both are worth knowing before the money is spent, so both are set out.

The quote shows the airline's charge and ours separately. Nothing is requested until you approve it.

How it works

  1. Say what you want

The seat type, the travelers who need it, or the cabin you want to move to, and on which flights.

  2. The options are checked

An agent reads the seat map and the upgrade routes your fare actually permits.

  3. Quote and approval

The airline's charge, our charge, and any change to your fare conditions, before payment.

  4. Confirmed in writing

When the airline fixes the new seat or cabin, the updated details come to you from this desk.

Questions about this service

Is an upgrade the same thing as a better seat?

No. Choosing a seat keeps you in the same cabin on the same fare. An upgrade moves you into a different cabin, and that can change your baggage allowance and the rules on changing the ticket.

Can one leg of a connecting trip be upgraded on its own?

Sometimes. It depends on the carrier and on how the fare was constructed. An agent finds out, and prices it, before you decide.

If the airline moves me, is the seat charge returned?

Airlines generally refund a seat charge when they cannot provide the seat that was paid for, though each one runs its own process. Tell this desk and an agent will put the claim to the airline.

Send the route and the dates

An agent reads the request, prices it and replies with options and one total. Nothing is booked at that stage.
