Name correction assistance
Name corrections
The name on a ticket has to match the ID the traveler will present. Where a ticket bought here carries an error, we put it right if the airline allows it.
For bookings made through AKS Textiles. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.
Request a callbackContact usA name that does not match the ID can stop a traveler at the checkpoint or at the gate, so an error is worth catching early rather than late. Airlines usually permit a small correction: a letter wrong, a first and last name the wrong way round, a middle name missing. Passing a ticket to a different person is a different matter, and is generally not allowed at all.
The first step is to establish what your airline permits on this particular ticket and whether it charges for the work. Some corrections need the ticket reissued, which can bring a fare difference with it. The whole cost is quoted before anything is submitted.
Better still is not needing the correction. Every name is read back to you against the passport or government-issued ID before a booking is made, which is the cheaper place to find a mistake.
How it works
-
Send the correct name
The booking reference, and the name exactly as it is printed on the traveler's ID.
-
What the airline permits
An agent looks up the carrier's rule for this kind of correction and what it takes to apply it.
-
Quote and approval
Any airline charge and our charge, itemized, before a word of the booking is altered.
-
The corrected ticket
Once the airline amends the record, the reissued ticket comes to you with the name right.
Questions about this service
My first and last names are the wrong way round. Is that fixable?
Usually, yes. It is among the most common corrections and many carriers apply it without reissuing the ticket. An agent confirms the position with your airline before quoting.
My middle name is missing from the ticket. Does it matter?
Often it does not, provided the first and last names match the ID. An agent checks the airline's guidance and tells you whether making the correction is worth the trouble.
Is there a charge for a correction?
The airline and the fare decide that between them. Some carriers fix a small error at no cost. Others charge, or require a reissue at the current fare. The airline's charge and ours appear on separate lines of the quote.
