Family travel
Family trips
An infant on a lap, a child's passport, a grandparent who needs help at the gate. The details that decide the day are settled first.
For bookings made through AKS Textiles. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.
Request a callbackContact usA family booking has more parts to it. An infant traveling on an adult's lap still has to be added to the reservation. Seats together cost extra on some fares. A child flying abroad needs a passport of their own. An older traveler may want a wheelchair from the curb to the gate, which the airline provides under the Air Carrier Access Act.
So those questions are asked at the start, not at check-in, and the requests go to the airline with the booking: seats together, a bassinet on a long flight, a meal, assistance at the airport. Airlines accept these on their own terms, and some stay requests until the day of travel. The quote marks which is which, so nobody is surprised at the counter.
Tight connections and very early departures are flagged too, so a slightly higher fare can be weighed against an easier day with small children.
How it works
-
Who is traveling
Every traveler's age on the date of travel, and anyone who will need assistance.
-
Options with the family notes
Seat costs, connection times, and what the fare allows for a stroller or a car seat.
-
Approve, then book
Once the quote is approved, the booking goes in and the service requests go with it.
-
What the airline accepted
You get back what is confirmed and what stays a request until check-in.
Questions about this service
Can you guarantee we sit together?
No, and nobody honestly can. The request goes in on every family booking and adjoining seats are chosen wherever the fare allows it. Seat selection costs extra on some fares, and an airline can reassign seats for operational reasons at any point.
Does an infant need a ticket?
A lap infant on a domestic flight usually travels without a paid seat but must still be named on the reservation. On an international flight, airlines generally charge an infant fare plus taxes. The cost for your route is confirmed in the quote.
Does a child need a passport for a short international hop?
Yes. A child needs a passport of their own for international air travel, however short the flight. Check the U.S. Department of State's travel pages for the entry rules in force at your destination.
