Cancellation & refund assistance

Cancel or claim a refund

Cancel a ticket bought through this desk, or claim a refund you are owed, with the arithmetic done before you commit.

For bookings made through AKS Textiles. Airline rules and fees apply, and nothing is changed until you approve a written quote.

Two different sets of rules apply here, and which one you are under depends on who ended the trip.

If you decide not to travel, the fare rules govern. Some fares return money. Many return a travel credit instead. A few return nothing beyond certain taxes. Separately, on a ticket bought at least seven days before departure, federal rules require the airline to allow cancellation within 24 hours of booking at no penalty, and an agent will tell you whether your ticket is still inside that window.

If the airline cancels your flight, or changes it significantly and you decline the alternative offered, U.S. Department of Transportation rules generally entitle you to a refund to the original form of payment. Where the federal rules require a refund, you get the refund.

Before anything is canceled, an agent reads your fare and sends an estimate: the amount expected back, any airline deduction, and any charge of ours. Canceling, changing and keeping the booking can then be compared as three figures rather than three guesses.

How it works

  1. Say what to cancel

The booking reference, the travelers concerned, and whether the whole trip or one flight is ending.

  2. An estimate is sent

Expected refund or credit, any airline deduction, and any charge of ours, itemized.

  3. You give the word

Nothing is canceled without your written instruction. Take your time: most airlines cannot reinstate a canceled ticket.

  4. The claim is followed

An agent files the refund with the airline and keeps you posted until the money lands.

Questions about this service

The airline canceled my flight. Is a refund owed?

If an airline cancels, or significantly changes, your flight and you choose not to fly on the alternative it offers, federal rules generally require a refund to the original form of payment. Tell this desk and an agent files it for a ticket bought here.

What counts as a significant change?

Federal rules point to things like a departure moved substantially earlier, an arrival moved substantially later, a different airport, or a connection added. An agent measures your particular change against those rules.

If I cancel, do I get money or a credit?

The fare decides. Refundable fares return money. A great many fares return a credit. Some of the most restricted return neither. The estimate names which one your ticket is.

Send the route and the dates

An agent reads the request, prices it and replies with options and one total. Nothing is booked at that stage.
